"WE were exhausted. Mandzukic was worn out and lying on the locker room floor," revealed the Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini in his autobiography, recalling the Champions League finals on 3 June 2017 when they had lost to Real Madrid (4:1).
In Cardiff, led by Luka Modric and Christiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid gave the Italian champions a football lesson, although the Italians hadn't won that title since 1996 - the Zidane's boys were flying all over the pitch when the complete fall of the Allegri's boys occurred in the second half.
Not even the spectacular Mario Mandzukic's goal in the 27th minute helped the Old Lady - the scissors kick goal in Keylor Navas's net and the goal that UEFA announced the most beautiful that season.
That's the most beautiful goal in his career, but not the most important one - that title goes to his masterpiece goal against England in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Finals in Moscow.

It was the 27th minute when the Croatian striker shocked Spain and tied the score 1:1. Cristiano Ronaldo had previously scored for the lead in the 20th minute, and they finished the first half with 1:1.
In the second half, Juventus was holding on for barely 15 minutes because Casemiro scored the long-range goal, and Ronaldo scored past the legendary Gigi Buffon three minutes after. In the 90th minute, Marco Asensio sets the final 4:1 for Real's well-deserved victory.
Mario Mandzukic is now the player of Qatari Al-Duhail, and Cristiano Ronaldo plays for Juventus.
