1. Pelegrini, Šibenik
Pelegrini has been at the top of the Croatian gastro-offer for years, and it is the proud owner of a Michelin star. It is located in the beautiful city of Šibenik, and what makes it so special is the fact that "it offers a unique experience which is much more than just a meal".
They offer Mediterranean cuisine and their chef is also the owner, Rudolf Štefan.
2. Noel, Zagreb
The restaurant Noel is located in the centre of Zagreb, where the chef Goran Kočiš and sommelier Ivan Jug will make sure you have an extraordinary experience.
In Noel, you can try traditional dishes in the chef’s contemporary interpretation. The Michelin Guide for 2018 recommended this restaurant.
3. Restoran 360, Dubrovnik
This restaurant is located in the city walls of Dubrovnik, so along with great food you will also have a spectacular view. No wonder this restaurant was awarded a Michelin star. On the menu, created by chef Marijo Curić, you will find traditional Mediterranean dishes and some local specialties.
4. Plavi Podrum, Volosko
Plavi podrum is the oldest restaurant in the Riviera of Opatija. It was twice included in the San Pellegrino list of the 100 best restaurants in the whole world. It serves European cuisine, as well as specialties of the Adriatic region.
5. Mala hiža, Mačkovec
Mala hiža is located in Mačkovec, only four kilometres away from Čakovec. Michelin also recommended it, it is included in their Digital Guide for Croatia in 2018.
What makes this restaurant so special is the fact that it is located in a renovated wooden cottage built in 1887. You will find traditional dishes from the region Međimurje on the menu, made from organically grown natural ingredients.
6. Muzej okusa, Osijek
The Muzej okusa restaurant is located in the former pavilion of the City Gardens “Gradski vrt”, it was built in 1809 and it is closely related to the city’s history. Muzej okusa is a café and a restaurant. Along with Slavonian dishes, it also offers fish and vegetarian options.
Its quality is confirmed by a Michelin recommendation.
7. Dubravkin put, Zagreb
Located at Tuškanac, in a forest, but only a couple of minutes away from the city centre. Dubravkin put is a restaurant and wine bar. They offer creative and Mediterranean cuisine. This restaurant also got a Michelin recommendation.
8. Monte, Rovinj
The restaurant Monte is located at the top of the “white hill” of Rovinj, under the church of St. Euphemia.
They offer modern and innovative cuisine. They combine local seasonal ingredients in a fresh and creative manner. They change the menu quite often, and the offer includes around 20 dishes, both in fish and meat. They got a Michelin star last year.
9. Foša, Zadar
The Foša restaurant is located near the sea shore and it has the same name as the city harbour. They mostly serve fish dishes.
10. Bokeria, Split
Inspired by the famous market La Boqueria in Barcelona, this restaurant, located in the centre of Split, offers dished based on seasonal, fresh ingredients. They serve Mediterranean dishes.
11. Pergola, Zambratija near Savudrija
Since 1996, this restaurant offers dishes made of seasonally caught fish. You can taste fresh fish and home-made recipes, such as dishes with asparagus, truffles, crab, and cuttlefish, prepared by chef Fabrizio Vežnaver. The restaurant is included in the recommendations by Gault&Millau, in a guide dedicated to Croatia.
12. Wine Vault, hotel Monte Mulini, Rovinj
The most popular Croatian food guide Good Food (Dobra hrana) calls it the enogastronomic jewel of Croatia, Gault&Millau and Michellin also recommend it... It offers an enogastronomic experience that combines European cuisine with a great wine list, including 320 different labels from Croatia and the world. They describe their menu as European cuisine with a modern twist.
13. Johnson, Mošćenička Draga
It is said to be one of the best restaurants in the northern part of the Adriatic, and it is recommended by Dobra hrana and Gault&Millau. Fresh high-quality fish, scampi, and seafood are bought from local fishermen on the day of serving and served as a meal with several courses. The vegetables are grown in the chef’s own garden and the wine list includes wine
from all over the country.
14. Bistro Apetit by Marin Rendić, Zagreb
It was chosen as the best restaurant in Croatia by the food guide Dobra hrana for two years in a row. Bistro Apetit focuses on international cuisine, and the entire menu is based on seasonal ingredients.
15. Bevanda, Opatija
Bevanda, a restaurant with a 40-year-long tradition, has been a synonym for high-class gastronomy for decades. It is located in the heart of Opatija, right by the sea. The focus of their dishes is on fresh, organic, and local ingredients. The dishes are prepared on a charcoal grill, under the bell and in a wood-fired oven. The wine list includes 500 labels.
