Radja: Everyone is talking shit about Novak these days
NOVAK DJOKOVIC has recently been heavily criticized by the public for organizing the Adria Tour, which was to be played in the Balkans.
The tournament turned into a coronavirus hotspot, and so it was canceled after the matches in Belgrade and Zadar. Djokovic himself got infected with the coronavirus and is currently self-isolating.
Dino Radja spoke up
A number of famous people from the sports world commented on the events in Zadar, and among the last ones to speak up was Dino Radja, who defended the Serbian tennis player.
"Everyone is talking shit about Novak these days: people are basically trying to outdo one another in doing it. The man tried so hard to help us Croats promote our country and save the tourist season. And of course, whenever you try to do good, they repay you by talking shit about you. Yeah, some mistakes were made. But Dimitrov and the organizing team are the ones to blame, certainly more than all the other attendees. Just look at cafes, night clubs on weekends, sports games, promenades, public transport, etc., and you'll get the picture. But of course, it's not as fun to talk shit about any Tom, Dick and Harry, so people are attacking Novak with all they've got. They are attacking the man who risked his health to help us. Very few people are criticizing the nuns from Dakovo, who spread the infection more than the Adria Tour. Smart people will take this situation as a warning that the virus is still active and that it should be taken seriously. We were all too careless. Anyone, no matter their status or wealth, is susceptible to viruses, and we need to get better at adhering to the recommended measures. Stay healthy and happy," Radja wrote on Facebook and added a photo with Novak.
Players are asking for resignation
As we've already written, the sports world heavily criticized the indifference of the organizers and the disregard of hygiene protocols, crowded stands, careless players and fans, non-compliance with social distancing, failure to use protective masks... Players shook hands, hugged, played basketball, posed for photos, had fun at dinners and nightclubs...
According to Sports Illustrated, some tennis players demanded Djokovic's resignation from the position of president of the ATP Players' Council because, as the organizer of the Adria Tour, he behaved carelessly and irresponsibly and did not adhere to the recommended measures.
